And I thought *my* vision was going bad... "Gentlemen: your design mission is to capture the beauty of classics such as the Honda Shadow ACE and Kawasaki Vaquero, while the engineering team will ensure oil retention and electrical performance to rival HD"
I kept wondering what euro dirty bike company they could buy to get a jump on development and save start up costs. Then I realized there are none left, KTM has bought them all.
If they do this right, I'll definitely take a 250 or 450 the first day in the dealership. Whenever that'll be
No idea where their dealer network is, but I’ve been seeing a lot of them on trails the past few years.
Guys, little info here.... They are planning a full on assault on SX and Off-Road. They aint building some Sherco or BEta, from what I am told, they are going for it kinda like the 675 did to the jap sportbikes. I could be wrong, but I HIGHLY doubt the best mx/sx racer of all time is going to put his name on some shit that sucks. I have a Triumph "Investor" meeting next Monday where we will know a LOT more. Don't be surprised to see a D&D Cycles 450 Team pop up going for another championship. But for now, we wait and speculate.
Not too sure. I would ask the rules body what they allow since the 675 came with a different platform which was still within the rules.
I dunno man..... His past accomplishments wouldn't back that claim. There are a lot of other riders/racers that would fit that bill and RC ain't one of them. IMO
Looking at FIM rules: MX2 - 100cc to 125cc two stroke or 175cc to 250cc four stroke MXGP - 175cc to 250cc two stroke or 290cc to 450cc four stroke MX2 two strokes are limited to single cylinder, bit of a gray area there as there is MX2 Two stroke, and regular MX2... wording implies that limit is ONLY for MX2 Two stroke, not the regular MX2 class. Displacement definitions are in place for both traditional Otto cycle engines as well as Rotary and Wankel setups. Rotary 450cc Triumph MXer? Closer to home, AMA MX rules: 250 Pro Sport - 122cc to 250cc, multiple cylinders allowed Open Pro Sport - 122cc - open, multiple cylinders allowed AMA has electric bike tech requirements, I'd love to hear Triumph is going to try and fill the void left by Alta's demise, might fit with the other electric research they're doing?
Yea, but I don't think Triumph has "Everyone has a price" money. They are doing well, but they aint Orange.
