I just broke the ball type end of my Allen wrench off in the brake pad retaining pin on the rear brake of my Honda ST 1100. Any suggestions on how to get it out?

I got it out! I did not try hard enough the first time. Believe it or not, some magnet power pulled it out. It was not wedged very tightly in the pin.

I hope you learned that ball drivers, while convenient, aren’t made for much torque.

Don't ever use the ball end to break them loose. That's why.

Also I have found that pad retaining pins get stuck like crazy so I always pre-heat them with a heat gun before removal.

I am ordering Allen key sockets today!
    Thanks for the advice.

I use a small dab of anti-seize on the threads.
