The rigs can definitely go get the oil. They are capable of drinking in up to 15,000’ of water...and can drill 40,000’ into the Earth. It all comes down to politics. Who owns the field, who buys the lease, how many partners will there be and what % will each partner get, so on and so forth. Hell, the drilling of the Well is the easy part. It takes a lot longer to get all the Contracts and shit worked out, than it does to actually drill the Well.
I didn’t see any Jackups, but there were some Semis there. There were probably 8 drillships and 3-4 Semis in that location. I’m sure there are a lot more in Aruba and Grand Isle.
Does this magazine make my butt look big? It’s just fucking ridiculous. But that’s what makes it so damn funny to me.
I haven’t actually shot with it yet. I just wanted to see what it looks like. I apply the same practice to new magazines that I do with new guns and even ammo. When I get a new one, I won’t count on it until I’ve put some rounds through it.
Last time I was going to the farm to go shooting with a buddy and his friends they brought a new dude with something like that. I said "see ya' later" and went home. They usually bring some really kick ass shit that you wouldn't see outside of one of those vegas rental places but that shit was ghey!
The 24 and even the 27 round mags look ok. I mean it’s obvious they are extended, but they don’t look silly. That damn 30-rounder just looks ridiculous. But shits funny to me.
So once a well is drilled it's hooked to a pipeline or pumping to a ship right? That's why the rigs can move on to a new spot???
Yep. Pretty much. It’s rarely immediately though. Typically we just P&A (Plug and Abandon) and they will come back later and do shit with it. “They” meaning the Operator (Shell, BP, Petronas, etc).
Having worked in oil and gas exploration for twenty years I can say that just getting to know exactly where to drill a well is often more than two years work.
