He did at one point in time. IIRC, he had somehow got ahold of a bunch of kit WSBK stuff (Suter clutch, gear drive, trans, exhaust, etc..) and was assembling it all. I think he sold it all because you couldn't get any support for any of it. I could be wrong though. The guy that runs ICONIC motorbikes may have picked it up. Either way, check with ICONIC or EDR. One of them knows where that stuff went. One of the coolest pieces I have seen is a the ZX10 motor swap. I haven't seen a zx-12 though..
probably because at the time (~2003) that was the best engine Kawi had. It was parked in front of Rossmeyers place when it was still in town on Beach St. Id rather not name drop but the head of Kawi at the time saw it and we all joked about bringing it in to get a stage 5 jet kit. That guy had the best job for a motorbike enthusiast.
Contact Eric at EDR https://edrperformance.com/ (503) 672-7223 He used to have almost 2 full bikes worth of parts.
We call that pulling a Darren luck. That’s funny. I was working at Bankstons Kawasaki across town at this time and knew nothing of this bike.
I dont remember it having FL plates and ever seeing it at the Hess. Ill have to go thru my old HD to find the photos.
Hope you have great brakes. I used to own a zx12 and that thing made it real easy to move at warp speed.
I thought it was a ZX9 motor swap was the hot ticket? Back in the day. I saw one ZX10 motor swap about 3-4 years ago. Never heard of a ZX12. That's gotta be a much heavier motor.
It's got good brakes, just needs lines. Honestly looking like I'm gonna sell the PMs and front end to a vintage racer.. Front end has a fresh ketch kit, and looks pretty mint. I'm going for a modern front end, brakes, and wheelset... stock tail with a saddlemen seat (i love the cafe tail, but my leg doesn't like to swing that high anymore!)
