What is the purpose of the heavy rubber flap over the rear cylinder for and do I need it on my track/race bike? I wouldn't think so but don't want to delete it if it serves a good purpose. Thanks! DT
thats the difference between "mint" & "clapped out" Doesnt it insulate the rear shock from the radiant exhaust heat?
I don't leave mine on rear cylinder and haven't seen anyone that does. The front one should be left on though, especially if you ride in the rain
Keep on chipping away at ounces and it turns into pounds... 8lbs frees up 1hp. Chop chop chip chip. Or you can just take a good healthy shit before you throw a leg over
Note: I also heard from Zoran (sv whisperer) and like others that have chimed in here , noted that it was to help keep water (rain) from spark plug recess. Since this is my Track/race bike (and AFM doesn't race in rain) it will not be needed. Not so much for weight removal but for ease of servicing/ inspection. Thanks! DT
