Maybe he is being paid to ride around 3 seconds off the pace so the Kawi doesn't get slapped with a 20lb weight penalty for next year. :D

Maybe it was his very first session on the bike? Maybe they need some suspension spring changes but didn't have time so he's just getting used to the massive differences in the bikes? Or maybe he just sucks......

Stanboli certainly hinted at it. He seemed to think (or at least suspect) that the transmission wasn't legal at Indy.

If Beach manages to win on the Celtic R6 that’s going to be a kick in the nuts for Paasch

The WorldSBK spec Duc comes with an second gearbox with closer ratio gearing. Stanboli noted Zanetti got kind of a bad start (possibly due to taller 1st gear), was running 1st gear through corners that the other bikes had to shift up to 2nd for. He said it might be the higher rev limit on the Duc, but he was certainly suspicious of it. He might have just put the protest / teardown threat out there to help insure that they show up with a legal bike this time.

    Why? It's Laguna Seca. It doesn't matter if you're on a 600 or 636.

I'd guess because he tried all year and failed and then JD hops on and gets it first go

they’ve mentioned a couple of times in races past that they’ve had to pull the WSBK gearbox out of the bike and put an OEM spec one in it. the WSBK gearbox doesn’t meet the MA rules

yes but stamboli said that due to the lauch and the fact that they used 1st gear in places where nobody else did he loosely threatened to protest if they win again lol.

Why? Well I'm just a fan from the outside looking in but common sense says he left Celtic for some reason.
