So I was thinking about how the racing will go, and I think whoever has the longest arms will be able to lean off more and carry more corner speed. So which rider has the longest reach?
I’m pretty sure that bike did the trackday yesterday at Arizona Motorsports Park, possibly with a Wyman brother on it?
Most on that list have been in show business as professional racers long enough to absolutely understand what the goal of this race is...
Given the weight of these bikes, I am thinking the rider hanging off will actually make less of a difference than it would on a sport bike. One of the challenges for sure would be making the suspension taller to get the necessary ground clearance without mucking up the handling too badly. This is all fun, but if this is going to turn into a real class next year, they are going to need some tighter rules about what you can and can not do for sure.
I can't wait to see them holding a 200 HP 650 lb bagger flat out over the crest of turn one! They're gonna need a shock from a Grom as a steering damper. If they are able to turn faster lap times than me, it's going to be really fucking embarrassing.
There's NO WAY a 650lb bagger with a pro rider on it can go faster than you. I MEAN NO FRIGGIN WAY. You have nothing to worry about. I mean, if you were a mid-pack club-racer, then maybe. Otherwise, NO WAY!!! And if they do, sounds like an automatic $100 donation to the RRWAFF to me
I’m actually excited to see this. Wish it wasn’t so wide open as I’m pretty sure some bikes will be a lot more... rideable? Than others but still cool none the less.
I found the rules. Curious how they Trask guys found a turbo is legal... http://www.motoamericaregistration.com/PDF/2020/bagger/2020 Bagger Regulations final v5.pdf
maybe 3.1.8.1 b. Air funnels and airbox may be altered or replaced i mean... it doesn’t NOT say you can use a turbo
It says EVERYTHING THAT IS NOT AUTHORIZED AND PRESCRIBED IN THIS RULE IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN And I didn't see "turbos may be added"
