In his defense, he would have had a solid win this year if Rossi wasn’t almost decapitated.

 

That was the race Pol looked to have been the top dawg until the red flag came out and he melted down.

It was the race that Vinales decided to ghost ride his whip into the air fence that cost Mir the win (and Taka his first podium).

Considering he's been the last Yamaha rider all season, I would say it's him.

Maybe Rossi needs a shake up. Perhaps changing his number from 46 to 56 to represent the number of races since his last win will do the trick.

There was an interview many moons ago where Marq stated his brother was faster than he was. I have no idea if it's lip service or not. Some riders just need the confidence boost with a solid finish, perhaps he has found that.

 

The problem is you only have been looking at his qualifying and race results but if you had gone and looked at his race pace since Brno you would definitely seen a huge improvement and some very competitive times, ,
