Bought it from my (non-riding) buddies Dad who no longer rides (late 70's in poor health) for super cheap. (under $1k) 2007 KLX250 with 1308 miles on the clock. Bone stock in great shape. He said only dropped it once in the dirt going over a mound of dirt. This being my first "Green" (KAW) bike I am not super familiar with the motor configs they offered; what matches what, what parts share with other motors, etc. This thing is a sewing machine and has little to no bottom end. Hopeful a pipe and re-jet will help that but I am not finding anything for this year other than a FMF header with no muffler. Any other years the same that will work? Also, it has an opening for a kick-start with a rubber/plastic cap sealing it. Can a kick start be added for those times when I get stuck out on a fire road with a dead battery? As always, thank you in advance for any help you throw my way.
I used to have one of those. They do make a kick-start option but it was pretty pricey. Money would probably be better spent on the 351cc kit...hah. I remember the exhaust looked like a pea shooter. It was light though and fun to zip around on.
