Bought it from my (non-riding) buddies Dad who no longer rides (late 70's in poor health) for super cheap. (under $1k)

2007 KLX250 with 1308 miles on the clock. Bone stock in great shape. He said only dropped it once in the dirt going over a mound of dirt.

This being my first "Green" (KAW) bike I am not super familiar with the motor configs they offered; what matches what, what parts share with other motors, etc.

This thing is a sewing machine and has little to no bottom end. Hopeful a pipe and re-jet will help that but I am not finding anything for this year other than a FMF header with no muffler. Any other years the same that will work?

Also, it has an opening for a kick-start with a rubber/plastic cap sealing it. Can a kick start be added for those times when I get stuck out on a fire road with a dead battery?

As always, thank you in advance for any help you throw my way.

I used to have one of those. They do make a kick-start option but it was pretty pricey. Money would probably be better spent on the 351cc kit...hah. I remember the exhaust looked like a pea shooter. It was light though and fun to zip around on.

For a 13 year-old bike, that looks sweet.

You now need this banner in your garage.

What movie is this scene from?

Found a pretty good wikipedia page with listing films of cycling and bicycling: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_about_bicycles_and_cycling

My google search results returned a pretty lame "best bicycle scenes in cinemas ever". The use of the word "ever" is your warning. Making the list are Karate Kid. Rushmore, BMX Bandits, Rad, ETQuik Silver, and even Sound of Music, Pee-wee's Big Adventure.

A bit more than just a scene but I think the best movie ever about cycling was "Breaking Away."

Just googled and found out John Heder was originally only paid $1,000 to play that part. Fortunately he was able to renegotiate later.
