Well we might research any negative effects importing Japanese honey bee's. Finally getting a plus with no negatives for importing an exotic species. Even if they produce less honey than European honey bee's. A live bee produces more than an dead bee.

There is a video down showing them bee's killing the hornet.

WSDA Trap #413 is State-registered and operational.

    Peak trapping period is July-Oct.
Low probability in the spring...but there's a possibility of capturing a Queen between April & July.

Readying a second trap to deploy in a day or so.

Yeah, honey bee's can swarm and cook a single murder hornet to death. What happens when all the murder hornets show up at once? Piles of headless bee's, thats what.

Not if they had invited their Preying Mantis neighbors over for some honey

I am from S. Florida, we have so many imported species that are causing havoic I totally agree.
My point was more towards, we have a animal with no natural enemy or bees that can deal with it.
So bringing in one like the Japanese bee's might be the ticket IF it does not cause another issue. At least it's worth looking at dam carefully.

Since when did bees get possessive? All that honey?

We have Praying Mantis that deal with them. No telling what else. I do support the effort to eradicate the hornets before they get set in but the hype is classic media over hype.

    Day 4 - So far:
    Several various gnats/flies, 1 small moth...and 2 Yellowjackets (good riddance). No friendlies/collaterals.
    We're in the ballparkish, Genus-wise.

There's a few vids on Youtube of these 2 coming to blows. I'm not sure what the typical outcome in nature usually is but the 3 videos I just watched the Mantis took down the murder hornet twice, and in the 3rd the Murder Hornet got the upper hand and killed the Mantis.
