I don’t have a dog but can only imagine losing someone so close to you. They are family. Sorry for your loss.
RIP. We had a boxer (Maggie) who passed the same way. She was in great health all her life. Never any out-of-the-ordinary visits to the vet, even. I came home from work one day, let her out. She jogged around the yard as usual, all happy. Came in, drank a little water. As I was getting some food from the fridge, I hear a loud thump in the other room. Wasn't sure what it was, walked over and she was laying there, passed away right then and there. It was gut wrenching, but at least the kids weren't home for it at the time - and she went quickly. I also grew up with two boxers, both of which went slowly as they got older - so this was in some regards, a blessing in disguise that she went quickly. But yet, she was only 7.
Thank you all for your words, they mean a lot to me. Having a bunch of hard asses (LOL) support me and my family. It's hard to say how unique a dog he was, so blessed to have him even for the short time. I'm a wreck right now, just trying to not bring my family who also loved him down because of this loss. The one thing this reminds me of, is how we need to cherish those we love. Because we don't know what tomorrow will bring. Take some time for those around you. Bless you all.
We know where you are here at this house. The loss of the wife's boy last year followed shortly by the loss of my fat little potato had me pretty beat up. The boy got better than a year after his kidney failure diagnosis but my little potato was gone in just about a week after hers. The wife always does a story book of their life with us via Shutterfly when they pass. I still can't look at hers.
Always sorry to hear news like this, my condolences. We are lucky to have them in our lives and I'm sure the time you and your family spent with him was a great life for him - I think that is all we can hope for. Godspeed Buddy.

So sorry to read this...absolutely heartbreaking to lose a friend such as this. I went through it two years ago and thinking of my boy Bones still makes me emotional. I took the suggestion of my Vet and went out and adopted a new furry friend a week later and it helped immensely... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
