I have to go to Winchester next week for work. Get to spend some time at Thermo Fisher Scientific upgrading one of their systems.

What is the current COVID restaurant/taproom situation?

Closed. You can get take away or delivery but that's it. Bars are closed.

The rest of VA is allowed to slowly open but not NoVa (and Winchester is on the edge/ part of NoVa). Nice enough area but right now, not much to do.

Sam was saying she read they MIGHT allow the fields and parks to start to reopen next Wednesday and MAYBE they will start to let some restaurants reopen. No idea.

Winchester is pretty okay. Urban sprawl from DC out to there but it still had a bit of old VA town feel.

I live in Winchester, its reopening but only for outdoor seating, there are some breweries with outdoor seating.

Update: Friday, May 15, 2020, Winchester restaurants will transition to Phase I of the Governor's reopening strategy. This strategy allows restaurants in Winchester to continue to offer takeout and delivery and allows restaurants to accomodate customers in their outdoor seating areas at a 50% capacity.

Winchester is not locked in to the NOVA reopening due the the difference in case levels here.

ZX, glad you posted and updated but you suck! They let you start to reopen and I'm left with takeaway and ancient asian ladies coughing on everything. :D

Tony, there you go, you're good to go.

Shit. Wish my area was open, I'd tell you to stay out here one night near the airport and we'd grab a beer. Next time I guess. :(

    In Winchester
Roma's for italian/pizza and great beer selection including some brewed in house.
    50/50 for beer/burgers
    Waterstreet more home style
    Violino is great upscale french
Paladin closer to where your gonna be working.

Not food related... but Summit Point Raceway is literally a stones throw from Winchester.

Interesting fact, but as far as I know nothing is running out there right now.
Early June are the first dates not cancelled or postponed, and I am betting no spectators at those if they happen.
