Bring it ya fucking murder hornets! I am ready with a case of Brakekleen and a lighter. I have been stung by yellow jackets, wasps. cow ants, hornets and honey bees. The worst was a brown bark scorpion. Those bastards are little but the sting hurts like hell.
I watched that fool someone recommended earlier where he intentionally stung himself with one of these bastards. I have to admit I laughed my butt off but man it sure looked like it sucked! No thanks, time to get the napalm ready just in case!
Who was the guy talking about shooting wasps/hornets out of the air with a BB gun? You’re gonna need a bigger caliber.
I prefer to confront transgressors personally, cuz, well, the cops are always "just" minutes away. Yeah, I'm a vigilante.
Leave it to the Japanese (bees) for a potential solution … apparently, we will have to "teach" the Euro bees we have here the same approach. https://nypost.com/2020/05/04/japanese-honeybees-learned-how-to-cook-asias-murder-hornets-to-death/
One of my co-workers lives in PA and he does beekeeping in his spare time. I brought up the whole murder hornets things to him during one of our team meetings this week and he mentioned that he actually found one last year trying to infiltrate one of his nests so he says they've been here for a least a little bit already.
These huge suckers are both fascinating and horrifying at the same time. Honeybees are already on the ropes. If AGHs establish here, it could put a huge strain on our already hurting-pollinators. I live in the "target area" (Whatcom Co., WA). A biologist buddy forwarded me a link to the WSDA Asian Hornet Trapping Project. https://agr.wa.gov/departments/insects-pests-and-weeds/insects/hornets/trapping I think I'm gonna volunteer to set up a trapping station or two. Hoping to post pics if I strike paydirt. Have several friends/acquaintances whom are beekeepers; for a few years now I've been thinking about doing it myself. .
