first convert your lap time to seconds (eg 1:32 = 92)

Average_MPH =
track_length_in_miles
---------------------------------------------------------------
(lap_time_in _seconds * (1_Hour/3600_seconds))

the seconds cancel, leaving you with miles/hour

 

i think you can get your average speed by putting a power commander on your carburetor
