In relative terms, India isn't testing....

    South America isn't pretty either.

    Keeping an eye on Sweden....

as has been said many times over.
    A) it’s easy to find something if you look for it
    B) a diag does not mean you’ll die

  7. How’d ya know I live there? I’ll take my chances and treat myself before I go there.

Depends on where you live, what you did was against the rules in New Mexico as it wasn't essential. 543 positives and 11 deaths here in NM. I basically agree with you wrt to using common sense but some people lack that feature. Nine states do not have a stay at home order but closed schools, non-essential business, limited gathering to ten, and some require a 14-day quarantine for visitors to their state.

"Right now, every time you leave your house, you are putting yourself, your family and your community at risk. Only by distancing from one another, by remaining home except for essential or emergency travel, can we limit the spread of this virus to the point that it does not overwhelm New Mexico. "

Florida numbers that mean nothing in particular but just to see where Florida is at as 6:30 PM this evening.
Admission rate: 12.7% of confirmed cases have been admitted to a hospital. 13.2% of those admitted have died which is 1.6% of the confirmed cases.

So your chances of dying are minuscule.

You sell lottery tickets with only a 1.6% chance that I won't win and I'll buy those tickets all day long.

Your point? Like I said, that’s just a marker for where Florida is at today, purely informational. I’m not here to argue anyone’s chances of dying from COVID-19 or from a half eaten ham sandwich while obsessing over a keyboard 18 hours a day. I’m just doing a drive by while I ponder pulling the trigger on a Rock Island Armory Rock Ultra FS HC 10mm purchase.

Hopefully in 11 days the 20k that die because no icu bed were available is false and all the "it's overblown" posters tell me you told me so. But with older parents I would like it better if everyone social distanced and flattened the curve so this chance didn't happen.

I'm in Kirkland wa it hit here a lot sooner than other places. Also 3 of my team members parents live in Wuhan China so I heard about how it was there.

Just to muddy up your pondering: century arms C39V2 Blade (it's a riot) and CZ75 Shadows (haven't shot the Shadow2 but have the first gen and have seen more than a few jaws drop the first time they double action dry fire it and the Shadow 2 is supposed to be even better). . .:D

So I'm sure at least some of you guys must've heard about this already yeah? This was a real exercise run last year in NY. The website's still up and you can read all about it.

    http://www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/event201/
    Event 201
The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation hosted Event 201, a high-level pandemic exercise on October 18, 2019, in New York, NY. The exercise illustrated areas where public/private partnerships will be necessary during the response to a severe pandemic in order to diminish large-scale economic and societal consequences.

    http://www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/event201/scenario.html
    The Event 201 scenario
Event 201 simulates an outbreak of a novel zoonotic coronavirus transmitted from bats to pigs to people that eventually becomes efficiently transmissible from person to person, leading to a severe pandemic. The pathogen and the disease it causes are modeled largely on SARS, but it is more transmissible in the community setting by people with mild symptoms.

The disease starts in pig farms in Brazil, quietly and slowly at first, but then it starts to spread more rapidly in healthcare settings. When it starts to spread efficiently from person to person in the low-income, densely packed neighborhoods of some of the megacities in South America, the epidemic explodes. It is first exported by air travel to Portugal, the United States, and China and then to many other countries. Although at first some countries are able to control it, it continues to spread and be reintroduced, and eventually no country can maintain control.

There is no possibility of a vaccine being available in the first year. There is a fictional antiviral drug that can help the sick but not significantly limit spread of the disease.

Since the whole human population is susceptible, during the initial months of the pandemic, the cumulative number of cases increases exponentially, doubling every week. And as the cases and deaths accumulate, the economic and societal consequences become increasingly severe.

This would be quite timely in order for them to guarantee you've been vaccinated and/or have antibodies to COVID-19, no? Along with whatever other information they'd like to track in said device.

Mind you this was all on the website for month since before any of this started happened and its still up there to this day. You literally can't make this crap up, it's like a word for word playbook of what's going on now.

I'm not saying.....I'm just saying. Wait for those implants or some other form of "proof" that you've been vaccinated against COVID-19 before they allow people to fully re-enter back into society.

I posted all of that days ago. Clade X, the same exercise done the year before.
I posted a video from Clade X in the Youtube thread showing that they identified the shortage of vents and masks 2 years ago.
    And did nothing about it.

Wasn't there a part of the national security council tasked with preparing for and monitoring this exact type of situation?

That's kind of why I doubt the exercise was about readiness/preparedness to be ahead of it.....but rather it was probably more about how to react/capitalize on it.
