So you race a motorcycle which is one of the top 5 most dangerous sports in the world and you are scared of a 3 ft fish, based upon urban legends and old wives tales that they will attack everything shiny????? Barracudas are way more smarter than you think, and way safer than racing motorcycles. But motorcycles are way more fun than barracudas
Well, these were more than 3 feet, but I digress. The primary difference is I have a greater degree of control. I've raced bikes, cars, snowmobiles, and even boats. I can do a certain amount of risk assessment that makes sense to me. Sharks, Barracudas, Horses even. I can appreciate them from a distance. Have actually seen the end result of an unexpected action by all 3 of those, and it wasn't pretty. If course, I've also seen the same in racing. I didn't say it was logical.
Here are several I still have in my phone - all shot with various iPhones over the last several years. Amazing what photos smartphones can produce versus not-that-many years ago, along with apps for shooting HDR, apps for editing, etc. Really makes it convenient for almost anyone to be a photographer.
Today's installment. Random images from Death Valley and Titus Canyon. Only had my phone on this trip.
In the end, the camera doesn't matter as much as having an eye for a shot. You've certainly got that. These are all awesome. Did you notice the similar structure of the bicycle pic and the Ape pic? Follow the line of the road/trail at a similar angle, with the backdrop quite similar as well. Interesting.
The Rattlesnake grade, Hwy 3, north from Enterprise, OR. The hwy goes off to my right and switchbacks down to this IMG_20190914_101300165 by T, on Flickr Crosses the Grande Ronde river and really switchbacks up to Anatone, WA as Hwy 129. The road we're standing on is the same road below. Look it up on Google maps IMG_20190914_094547367 by T, on Flickr
Yes, it is. But, hopefully, you ran Hwy 3/129 above. And, there's miles of fantastic roads west and SW of the Wallowas (aka the Switzerland of NA)
You need to, it's quite brilliant. I was just there a couple of weekends ago on the Multistrada, and brought the drone along for some pics: https://bwhip62.wordpress.com/2020/03/22/social-distancing-on-two-wheels/
That's awesome. I wonder how many tickets it would cost me. I've thought about doing a write-up about my Alaska trip, but haven't had the time.
I don't know about the ID side of that loop, but as far as running the grade, you could run from the Joseph Canyon Overlook in OR to Fields Springs SP in WA and back for hours and never see any LEO. It's way out there. Also, on Bwhips loop, you could stage in La Grande, Enterprise or Lewiston and cut that lower part of the loop off. There's a killer forest road from just west of Copperfield that takes you to Joseph, Or
