Club racing is still racing. Joe Fischer got the coveted club racer's trifecta at Tally last weekend. He rode out a mondo wheelie on one start, jumped a second start and ran out of gas during a race all in a single weekend.

EDIT - but my question is what did his explanation of how he really didn’t jump sound like?

Well, there's some Florida race drama to discuss....

CCS had to cancel their usually strong Homestead weekend in February due to lack of interest. The other organization down here, FMRRA, had a competing event in Palm Beach and I guess CCS is just gun shy after they had a few disastrous weekends with super low turnout down here. So the pre-entry now closes about 3 weeks out, (whereas it used to close 4 days prior). This has caught a lot of people out, including me, despite racing CCS for the last 20 years.

So in Feb it was PBIR or nothing. FMRRA has added some bottle bags, and they continue to work on that, but not fast enough and there's still lots of uncovered concrete walls with nothing in front of them.

I went and did practice and qualifying on Saturday, but I use it basically as a track day, I don't like pushing for lap times there even on the LW bike there's a couple spots where if you screw up, you'll be going to the hospital. There's still guys going crazy fast there, so YMMV.

In FMRRA's defense, they are very efficient at getting people registered, keeping in touch and getting info out. They are good at leveraging technology and things like tech have improved greatly.

On the downside, the majority of the events are at PBIR which I don't care for, but that's racing, as they say.

CCS still has Daytona, and it looks like that will be a big event this year. The Rider / Owner lot is sold out for the first time in recent memory, and I think they are getting close to 100 entries for the 200!
