Well, this could be huge. I have no idea who Jenna is though. Never mind, I looked her up...definitely a reliable source.
There's a rumor that Nico Hulkenberg will race for Ed Carpenter next year, taking Pigot's spot. Then he will try to get back into F1 in 2021.
Yeah maybe, but Hulkenberg is a good driver and the Carpenter team is a little 2nd tier. I would think that if Hulkenberg wants to rejoin F1 in 2021 he would be further ahead looking for a WEC team for 2020. There are a ton of Indy Lights Drivers that would do right by the team for a fraction of the salary.
Ya. Seems if he wants to keep his $500k pay he has to show up at all the races, basically sit in the hospitality tent plus other special appearances.
Hinch is getting closer, to at least be in the Indy 500. He recently obtained a sponsor, Genesys, an Indianapolis based tech company. Rumor is he will race Indy, Toronto, and 2 other races. He has kept his Honda sponsorship, and is hoping one of the Honda teams will pick him up. Rahal would be a good fit.
Hinch should be supported for the Toronto round + The Detroit double round by the Honda Ontario Dealers association. IMO they owe him for all the public interest he has brought to them over the years. The regional TV commercials he does for them are very popular. Hinch's fan base in Ontario is very strong. They did a similar support deal with PT for his last 3 years.
I think the fact that Hinch kept his Honda sponsor will help him find a ride. He's one of the more popular drivers, he's the Mayor!
Honda vetoed the Andretti/Alonso attempt to put a Honda powered car in the Indy 500. American Honda asked Tokyo, dad said no.
And now Alonso learned what Bike Racers have always known. If you; cross, speak ill of or step out on Big Red. It's because you want the door slammed shut. Maybe he needs to speak to Edwards about burning bridges.
