Stay closer to downtown, either near Centennial Olympic Park, or do Buckhead and Marta over. There isn’t a lot of kid stuff out towards Smyrna / Galleria. Yes, suntrust Park is there but there isn’t much there for kids outside of game day. ITP options - college football HOF is downtown, world of Coke. You are already planning on the aquarium. Other stuff for kids - Piedmont Park, botanical gardens (big sculptures and a great kids garden), Beltline, Center for Puppetry Arts (the museum is the largest collection of Jim Henson pieces anywhere), Atlanta history center (cyclorama is now there), Atlanta Zoo, and Fernbank Science Center for dinosaurs and Georgia ecology. Staying closer in also gives a bigger range of convenient, non-corporate food though OTP is getting better for that.
It is just a tap house at the Park. Main production is still in Athens. And they are now owned by Miller/Coors.
When we went a number of years ago we stayed in Galleria area at 75/285, straight shot down 75 to the Aquarium. We had visited the Chattanooga Aquarium couple days before so easy ride down 75 to the Galleria.
