Hey guys I'm trying to clean up some rotors before I install my new pads. Question is what type of media can I use. I have access to a media blaster at work but I'm not sure what type of beads it uses. ( I work at a car dealership) I tried it on an old rotor and seem to leave a somewhat rough finish. Is that ok? Does it matter what type of media I use? What we have now is used to clean gasket mating surfaces and such.

I have always used scotch bright, dawn and warm water, seems to work well and never damaged the rotors.

Glass beads or soda will do just fine. Protect part of the rotor that you don't want to be blasted (anodized carrier etc).
Best easiest way to clean glazing and old pad material.
