So this is the War against Christmas I have been hearing about for the past few years. Stupid me thought it was caused by the anti-Christ Starbucks corporation.
I tell people, the first year you put up decorations in shorts, it's a novelty. The second year, it's weird, after that, it's just not right...
You should try spending it in Australia. Something not right about being on the beach on Christmas day with a bloke in a Santa hat driving a 4 wheeler with a cooler selling ice cream. Not to mention the fake snow decorations.
The HOA is attempting to enforce a rule that isn't in the document. I sympathize with the homeowner. With the late Thanksgiving this year, we are putting some of our decor up early, but only lights outside and we aren't turning them on until after Thanksgiving. Has to be even more pressure with kids that expect full decorations and with another kid due on Christmas day.
It's an HOA, they will have approval of everything placed on your property no matter what the article says. That is why I won't live in a place with one as long as I care about that kind of crap.
A contract is a contract, and unless it’s there in black and white, it ain’t there. Not only will the court of public opinion go all ghost of Christmas future on these busybodying twatwaffles, the court ain’t gonna much side with them either...and I personally take great glee in watching these sorts of things blow up in their self-righteous faces.
We put ours up because it's tolerable outside, kids and wife wanted them on, I didn't. They'll be on for the rest of year.... Take the bigger one, he's starting to be a smartass, I can take the little one still.
