that's pretty awesome. With the auto shuffle, 8 decks, and shuffling after a few hands, i lost interest.

The machines aren't allowed to be programmed like that even if they seem like it. They really are random.

I use the card every time I sit down, my blowing money in slots or blackjack gets WERA free rooms so it's worth it long term.

That's the theory when using the players cards...

and also you go to a machine that hasn't been used in a while, so it thinks it's a new player. It could very well be super random, but that's the way it seems to me.

OK, I was thinking of feeding it coins. I haven't been in a casino in a minute.

Yeah things have changed for sure. You get a players card so they can keep track of your winnings/losses if you like. Works great for building up comps. Some people think it's the man keeping track of you :D Very very few machines do real coins these days, most spit out a printed ticket that you can cash in at a kiosk or the cashier or put into another machine.

You cant count on a continuous shuffler i.e. the snail, cards are constantly fed back into the machine and it is always shuffling. An auto shuffler on the other hand is fed a completed shoe off cards and spits out a second set that is shuffled. Cards do not return to the shuffler until the shoe is complete. An auto shuffler just speeds up play as you are not waiting for a dealer to hand shuffle 8 decks.

Nailed the response for me. In my prime i preferred the higher deck shoes because you got wilder swings in your favor.

Craps is way up there. I read a book on statistics and odds once that included gambling. There is a historical case where a casino deleted a single thing in craps and lost the house. It is one of the long ones. Interesting book as it applied to real world on stuff like fear of crime (quite irrational) etc.

I read another one near the same time that was interesting on how people make bad decisions that know better. For instance a pilot that wrote the safety rules for his airline and had a flawless record and crashed killing everyone. Cannot find it in Amazon think I still have it in my books at home....
