I don’t really understand how a bespoke company can create a superior piece to a manufacturer that has every evaluative piece of equipment known to man.
Awesome to see Scott running like a bashee out there! Congrats to he and the Boulder crew on a solid finish. The bike Scott raced is about $100K. Full on Corse equipment, Magneti Marelli, etc. It's a dream bike for sure. I didn't make the trip down this year, but Taylor was on a borrowed 1199 with a super tired motor and we got a bad batch of MR12, so he had to run on pump gas. Dude rode the wheels off it all things considered. Also big congrats to Geoff May and team. He has a special vibe with that EBR 1190RS and Barber. Never seen a bike pull out of Charlotte's like that bad boy! We'll be back next year with a proper weapon for the fight. Hopefully they keep doing the race. This year was pretty disorganized compared to years past. They didn't announce the purse until a week or two before the race. That doesn't give teams much time to prepare. They also changed the race time from 5pm to right after lunch. Gave teams half hour notice. No time to swap rubber, etc. Bikes had to get on warmers immediately.
Ducati retained Pierobon's services to create all of their wsbk frames in the past and they still do their swingarms now that the current models are frameless.
Not having to be concerned with DOT regulations helps a lot I'm sure. Even the sportiest bikes need much beefier frames to support passengers/luggage etc. than a pure track machine.
But didn't the riders vote for that change at the meeting they held, due to possible rain at the end of the day?
