Fork Diameters... front end swap

I think i wanna try to change forks on my Tuono but not sure what i want to use yet. I know i can just get a lower triple and set of Ohlins that came on the factory model but i kinda wanna do something more custom. Is there a website or some source that would show fork tube diameters from different bike model years? I need forks with 51mm tubes to fit the stock triples or I could go with some that measure 56mm at the bottom clamp and get a factory model bottom clamp to accommodate them. I'd kinda like to do a BPF fork swap but i think some of the newer bikes have much larger diameter forks (my Panigale seems like they're huge compared with any of my other bikes).

    Any ideas?

My best advice for the top is to look up clip on diameter for different bikes.
    IIRC the 2009 Kawasaki ZX6R is 51mm

Yeah, easy enough to find an application chart for clip ons (maybe Vortex's site), but that won't help you get the right overall length forks.

All good points. I'd like to stick with european bike forks because of the brake caliper mounting (100 vs 108 mm). Might have to roll with the Ohlins or maybe find some Marzocchi or WP forks. Gonna have to attend euro bike night and start measuring forks lol.

Get with Ken Hall at Superbike Suspension. He’s swapped a ton of bikes, over the years. Superbike Unlimited would be another shop who’s done cool swaps. Shift-Tech have tons of cool stuff to drool over, as do Bestem USA carbon fiber.

I think, you’re overthinking this. There’s no way I’d ever look at Marzocchi or WP over Öhlins. If it were me, I’d do Öhlins forks, BrakeTech F&R rotors, and Core Moto wheels. If you don’t have nice masters and levers, those would be worth a look, too. That’d all give you some serious eye candy.

What's the issue or is there one?

I dunno, i've heard Aprilia oem Ohlins isn't all that. I put the rear shock from a factory on and it was an improvement but not as much as i expected. Also i don't love the gold but if they are the only realistic option i'll go that route. It seems the factory edition lower triple is much nicer also.

Nah, man. There are all kinds of levels and options, with Öhlins. Look through SBKU’s photo gallery on FB. Plus setup has a lot to do with any suspension.

I’ve seen completely black Öhlins, with black uppers, lowers, and stanchions. I can’t remember if it was SBKU or db Customs.

Finding forks to fit your clamps is one thing. Finding an axle, wheel, bearings, rotors with an appropriate offset, etc. to all fit together on those forks is an whole other endeavor. I would think that staying close to the model and year could solve the search dilemna, but if that's not different enough for ya...

Send your OEM stuff out for re-coating, find some trick triples and let a tuner do the internals...just like everybody else.

That shit is real nice and I’d like to have it on my race bike. No.... what I really want on my race bike is those Uber blingy carbon forks they have in motogp now!

I think a buddy might have a whole front end from an RSV factory. Might just go that route.

I have set from rsv4 ohlins with lower triple. I just bought them to put them on my tuono but I am going to sell my bike. The forks were rebuilt recently with couple rides. Let me know if you are interested. They have a little heavier spring and new seals and oil.

I don't think those are Ohlins. Probably has carts, so he's calling it Ohlins, but uppers and lowers look non-ohlins to me in the top pic, the bottom pick the uppers might be Ohlins, but lowers.... I doubt it.
