You'd be REALLY surprised (or not?) just how stupid some of these guys are with their money.

I think it was an episode of Hard Knocks for the Browns last year where they were trying to teach some players about investing some of their money and the benefits it has. Most of these guys don't even know what interest is and how it works, let alone taking the time to work with a professional and make sure they're set for life.

There's a reason many of them still end up broke, even if they manage to eek out something longer than the current 3.3 year career average.

 

I read about a dude years ago who found a JLC deep sea alarm in the bin at goodwill. Pretty sure he paid like $5.00 for it.

 

And he flipped it to a collector, got $35K and an Omega Speedmaster out of it.

I hate that Goodwill will get a major payday out of someone not knowing what they had. I hope it comes up as stolen and they have to return it to the original owner.

The guy paid $5.99 for that JLC.
It happened before they lost their 401C3 status and were still actually a charity.

Now they are a pseudo charity (at best).

I'm flirting with selling my IWC portfolio chrono and Panerai base. Box, papers, OO and all the shit people are in to. I don't ebay, Chrono24 or another place?

I’d probably use Chrono24 or have my AD sell them. I’ve bought through the Rolex forum but selling seems difficult if you’re not pretty involved.
