What exactly is a 'Brown'?

So like, I've got the Browns/Titans game on the tube in the background whilst I'm doing some painting, and it just dawned on me...I got no clue what a 'Brown' is. Anyone know?

Cleveland, the mistake on the lake?

 

When I was a kid Cleveland was considered Cincinnati’s rival city. Seems to be Shittsburg now days but back then all the jokes were about Cleveland. Everyone called it the mistake on the lake. Hell they even made Major League because their team was legendary for being so shitty. It’s actually a nice place now but I’ll never admit it to my relatives that live up there.
