You just can't make this shit up. https://www.wmbfnews.com/2019/09/02/florida-woman-wrapping-home-plastic-ahead-hurricane-dorian/
Looks like Dorian is making a left turn and wanted to see Magic Kingdom on his way out. Sent from my smatrfone
If you've been to the Galveston area for instance, the city has the old 'sea wall', and the SW end of the island with LOTS of homes- are nearly ALL built way up on stilts! I think it is in their code there too? Even with that, in the nearly 30 years I've either lived and worked in Galveston, or went down there every week to sail, windsurf, or fish- They've had whole rows of beach houses succumb to the storms and have lost whole rows of houses. What was 3rd row 20 yrs ago, is now beachfront!
Pretty much back to normal today here in Brevard county (eastern central FL). Schools are back open tomorrow. This one was one hell of a bullet dodge for sure. Certainly one of the most unique hurricanes I've experienced when it comes to behavior and lack of predictability. What the Bahamas has gone through is just devastating......really hope they get the support they need over the coming months/years getting back on their feet.
Ring doorbell camera captures the final seconds of the home to which it is attached. https://twitter.com/i/status/1169753483186266113
A bit long, but you did watch the end, right? When your doorbell ring is pointing at the sky...... not good.
