    Dont think its clubman legal??

Mini Max Vmax plane. All wood fuselage/wings with fabric covering, 1835cc Type 1 VW engine as base. Modified crank for prop hub. Makes about 65hp at 3600rpm. Prince wood prop with CF covering.

Basically the clapped out SV of planes...:D

Does the engine have the classic VW 'bag of nickles' sound or did you put a cool exhaust on it?

I know where you could get a replacement engine with a little more grunt. How about an Autocraft VW that dynoed at 250hp at the wheels in a midget? Might make that bird a little quicker.

Is it possible to overpower the airframe in planes?

    YES.
Weight is/can be an issue as well.
What RPM? I dont like gear boxes on plane engines, so that limits rpms to about 3500-4k max. Any faster and the prop is so small to keep the tips from going supersonic. This one is already about 800-1000 rpm more than most aircraft specific piston engines.

Plus the crank takes a lot of force from the prop, big gyroscope, so the main bearings/crank have to made for that.

But yeah they can get some stupid power from VW engines now.

The prop is on backwards! :D
And you know the engine has oil because it's leaking.
