This fall, my professional organization will be honoring my mentor. He is one of the foremost medicolegal experts in the country, being involved in some high profile cases. He had a recent medical diagnosis that will prevent/limit him from traveling in the future and will be scaling back his work into a somewhat early retirement, so our Fall conference will probably be the last one he attends for the members to recognize his commitment to the profession and our group. We are trying to find an applicable quote or passage that we can have engraved on aspects to give to him regarding honesty and integrity, as most of our work is identifying, reviewing and assisting in prosecuting health care fraud. In court, you only win if you have honesty and integrity. I did search for quotes on honesty and integrity on "BrainyQuote" (https://www.brainyquote.com/topics/integrity), but many don't apply (and the site actually used a quote from Rachel Dolezal, so I began to question anything else on that page). If you can think of anything or point me in a direction, I would be grateful.
I recently spoke at a breakfast put on by my church on integrity so I would gladly share my notes with you if you’d like...here is one of the quotes I found and used that I thought was [emoji108] Integrity is the foundation that a successful life is built on. Without it you won't reach your highest potential. This is from Joel Osteen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sounds like a very worthy recipient, for some reason I'm thinking perhaps some personalised words may carry more weight? unless you happen to know they think highly of the quoted person or passage. For example the etymology of integrity around wholeness /completeness might have something. Anyways, Integrity is your destiny-it is the light that guides your way. Plato And for some reason this one came to mind... And what is good, Phaedrus, And what is not good— Need we ask anyone to tell us these things? Robert M. Pirsig
Never esteem anything as of advantage to you that will make you break your word or lose your self-respect. Marcus Aurelius If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it. Marcus Aurelius “Most powerful is he who has himself in his own power.” ― Seneca
We do have this on our website. He and I are partners in a medicolegal consulting practice with one other. “Integrity without knowledge is weak and useless, and knowledge without integrity is dangerous and dreadful.” ― Samuel Johnson, The History of Rasselas, Prince of Abissinia
In the backstabbing world of medical device sales. this one rings truth. "Look good by being good. Not by trying to make others look bad."
