I dunno why I'd need the gen all night unless I need AC, and then, even my 'loud' 4k Onan is overpowered by the AC noise?
I bought a Yamaha 6300 Inverter genny probably 6-7 years ago and I still have it, even though my present T.H. and the one before it both have the Onan 5500W onboard generator. I've thought about selling it, but I probably wont because it is there for emergency loss of power stuff. I add fuel stabilizer to the fuel, and try to remember to run it for at least 1/2 hour every month, under load so that it stays ready to go when/if I need it.
There's a story that goes with that......One poor fellow ended up sleeping on the paddock tarmac...his friends drew a chalk outline around him...
The Onan in the hauler is gas correct? Buddy of mine dumped his Honda in favor of the LP onan in his rig and regretted it after 29 trips to the propane store every weekend.
The issue for me was vibration. I’m a weirdo though as stuff like that gets on my nerves. May not bother you. I would try it though before dumping the Yamamaha if it were me.
That's a bunch of 'keep its', and zero 'sell its'. Keep it, for sure. I use mine every now and then for the odd power outage to keep the fridge cold in the house.
IF you decide to sell it down the road, give a brother a shout......I'm in FL and have been thinking about eventually upgrading to one of these or the Honda equivalent for hurricane backup.
Keep it. I just bought a Honda Eu2000i for $500 in great shape and I don't think i'll sell it even if i ever upgraded to a bigger generator.
Don't forget with the built in one to run it once a month. Use non-oxy gas. The worse thing for a genny is to not run it. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
