It's my money that I earned, not everyone else's. Explain to me why I am not entitled to the money I earn and dipshit couch jokey who doesn't work is.
No matter how you try to dress up socialism it doesn’t work. Always drags majority down to lowest common denominator. Why do we humans keep trying to dabble in it? The evidence is there.
So, the government provides $1,000 a month to over 350 million US citizens (and non-citizens because socialists democrats will expand it to keep their base voting for them). Then, they will tax tech companies only to support this. The math doesn't work, but lets pretend it did for even 1 second. The tech companies respond by immediately moving operations over seas and dodging taxes easily. Now you've got a $350B monthly budget hole you need to plug for the socialist system to continue to function. Where does that money now come from? The tax base, which you clearly aren't apart of because you think this is at all reasonable in the first place.
What could Yang do with his foreign policy ? Another wait and see like Obama did ? Probably bring us back to the Paris Agreement and the Iran Nuke Deal . No thanks !! . Need someone in the office with brass balls dealing with world leaders, wanting to pick us apart.
There are far more people that are willing to take than there are with the drive to create and excel.
Where the hell did the dems find these people running for president? How do you go from mayor of a medium sized city to presidential candidate? Or losing a congress seat to running for president?
I don't understand. Trump keeps saying we have historic low unemployment rates. You're saying we don't. Please go back and read the first part of this thread you've obviously missed a lot. As for me I worked hard after my time in the Army and put together a good retirement and live off of that. I'd bet you haven't done that yet. I don't need a government handout to live a good life.
No, I'm agreeing that we essentially do have record low unemployment. The concept of universal basic income, is based on the notion that automation, robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc. will decrease employment to the point that an alternative model will be needed. If we're having record low unemployment, which we are, that means the original purpose of universal basic income isn't applicable.
I've missed nothing. You've missed everything. Please provide the math, budgeting, and allowance for corporate nature (i.e. tax shelters that they all employ) that will allow this "glorious" future to happen? The tech industry isn't oil, it's not physically rooted in Alaska. It will leave once you try tax it to death.
Well now I can say that you missed it big time! Yang said he had the data you're asking for. I don't have anything. I was just throwing the concept out there for discussion. I got what I wanted. What are you looking for?
https://www.yang2020.com/what-is-freedom-dividend-faq/ This is all complete bullshit. Are you blind? 1. Cut $600B in existing social services and replace them with 330M(US pop)*$1000 *12 = $3.960 TRILLION in social services! 2. Tax me an additional 10% on EVERYTHING. 3. The literal "Step 4. ???? Step 5. Profit!" meme in a plan 4. More taxes I get to pay and the actual wealthy won't be paying because tax loopholes. So, tell me again, what is going to actually support this? How does this not completely f over the middle class once and for all in this country? As soon as you hand everyone an extra $1,000 a month, everything will go up by that amount proportionally, probably by an extra 30-40% for food and housing. Look at what government backed loans have done to the higher education market? Student loans went up and tuition costs "magically" went up and matched them. This isn't rocket science, but it's clearly above most peoples' understanding hence why it works so well as a magic trick to fool them.
Why are you blaming me for this? I just brought up the topic. You just need someone to focus your rage on? Thanks for posting that link. I hadn't seen it before. Sounds like fantasy to me too.
