We need to talk Bird in to a curbless pan and a steam unit with full height glass. A nice handheld, a rainhead and some body sprays. Its just money. Loosen the purse stings!

That main floor tile is way popular right now. The glass covering the joint will help a ton.

Yeah no way it should take that long to do unless they found structural issues once they did the demo.

As someone else said, the larger format tiles are really difficult. The amount of crown in them makes leveling staggered joints nearly impossible, unless you use one of the plastic leveling systems. I just did a floor with a mix of 6x24 and 8x48 ceramic, and even after using leveling compound on most of the subfloor (durock over plywood), it still required quite a bit more mortar to deal with tile irregularities. Also, if your supporting structure has ANY flex, you can expect broken tiles. My floor joists were spanning a greater distance than optimal, so there was some bounce when you walked on it (fine for linoleum). I didn't have the option of building up an extra layer on top, due to door heights. Ended up beefing up the structure from underneath. Stable as a rock now, but a total PITA.
