The guys on the other side if the wall from me listen to the local country station. Every day at noon the station plays the national anthem. But the guys work through it everyday. I don't know what to think about that. Opinions?
I don't. It's in a different shop..I can hear it through the wall? Am I supposed to? Should I erect a flag? Ask them to turn it off? This is what I'm getting at.
There's a country station back home that does the same. I've never thought about it, but I guess technically you should stand. But do you stand when it's played at a sporting event on tv? What if you're driving? The one around here that does it always plays that Alabama song "40 hour week for a living" right after.
I would expect people to stand for the anthem when it is played in a ceremonial fashion, I don't think you can expect everyone to stand when it is played on the radio.
At the track, and sporting events..yes. hat off, stand, face the flag, hand over heart. I go to virtually zero sporting events. I don't think the anthem was played at summit from what I remember.. Loudon for sure. Can't recall other tracks. I don't to ever listen to the radio when I'm driving. Hmmm.... Only watch football usually. They usually show it on TV. But I don't stand.
I went to Mission Barbecue once during a lunch break, they played the anthem and everything stopped. I didn't go back, at least not during that 12 noon time slot.
What to do needs to be explained to an adult? There's a video of military kids playing on a playground when out of nowhere, they start playing colors.....no adults in sight but those dang kids knew exactly what to do to pay their respects....pretty damn cool.
So you didn't go back because of national anthem is playing and you don't have few minutes to wait!? WTF
Situations are all unique. Standing and facing the music when their is no flag when it is coming out of 4 corners of the car or even a dozen speakers in a restaurant would be problematic to say the least.
