how do i find out which ones i need without taking them apart? just want to keep a spare set or 2 greased in a bag with it. tried to find specs online and even lippert / Gulfstream couldn't tell me despite me submitting the VIN ...
Can you ask them to provide a BOM for the trailer? Or is there an OEM stamp/sticker on the wheels somewhere? I am sure they outsourced the wheels and just slapped them on there. They likely won't know anything about the bearings, but they should be able to tell you where the wheels came from. Then you can reach out to them.
It’s easy enough to pull a hub and check the number on the bearing race or seal. Plus, you’ll be able to inspect, while you’re in there. Do NOT buy China bearings at the local parts store. I learned the hard way, with multiple failures. FAG, SKS, and other high-quality bearings are available. I buy all my stuff through Motion Industries, where bearings are their only business.
Based on my experience with the trailer guys...pull it apart and physically check it. And hope they are all the same...lol. Even if they told you what “should” be there trust but verify.
