DR getting much press for recent violence... https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ml...minican-republic/ar-AACDTUk?OCID=ansmsnnews11
Curious, are there any tracks in the DR? I remember some sparse track video in the carribean but I'm not sure where it was?
I went there on my (cursed) honeymoon. It's definitely a strange place. There's a lot of money from expats and ball players, but also a ton of poverty. I remember a few years ago a Royals player was killed in a car accident there, and as he laid dying in the wreckage, onlookers stole his jewelry, wallet, and even his World Series ring instead of trying to save him. https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yordano-ventura-robbed-lay-dying-article-1.2954907
Puerto Rico has mofongo on lockdown. Martin’s BBQ near palmas Del Mar was the shit when the tall skinny guy worked there.
The story is getting crazy...rumored it was an organized hit by off duty cops ordered by a drug lord over a girl...surely just rumor...
GE would put us up at Palmas when I worked for them in the 1990's. There wasn't any place safer to stay at the time and Palmas was REALLY nice. The plant was on the South side of the island so we still had a decent drive in. When I flew into San Juan and went directly to the plant I drove over the mountain and that was really fun. Basically no rules to the road over there. When I traveled with co-workers to PR they always had me drive. I fit right in with the locals. Just don't make eye contact and be uber aggressive. Good times.
A dog limps into a saloon back in the old west and says "I'm looking for the man who shot my paw". It's all I had.
The RedSox have flown him to Boston to increase his chances for recovery. Meanwhile back in the DR another American tourist has been found dead. I think that brings the count to 6 recently. WTF?
