amost my life lived by someone else, and that is scary. wait till your 70 trying to get out of state of ILL inois. who is going to hire a old man. this damned state is trying to bankrupt everyone!

But Illinois and Pennsylvania do not tax any private pensions, IRA & 401K distributions, annuities, etc. for seniors, nor social security (even if they are federally taxable).
Illinois has a extra 10% senior property tax exclusion (over the normal homeowner exemption)
and most counties/cities have other cut-rate fees/taxes for seniors in IL.

Not all that bad when you look the big picture compared to other places.
