    Phl218 .

what’s the trick? Add a block on swing arm to get it higher? Bust frame out with hammer?

Bought from fasterminis so was assuming it’d fit right out the box

Essentially spring OD too big or frame too narrow

Was the shock advertised for Honda CRF50s or generic pitbikes? If for CRF50s specifically I'd be phoning them up and saying no bueno.

Hold up - Honda is manufacturing some bikes in China? Is this a new thing?

Earth to McFly … where have you been lately? Japanese labor is too expensive.

I toured the Yamaha manufacturing facility in Hamamatsu back in 1998. FYI, that was 21 years ago. The majority of workers were imported labor from Brazil. No, I'm not kidding.

Brazil is the Mexico of Japan. Surprised me to see back in Tokyo. But there’s also Brazilian Steakhouses because of that !

Got a stripped RT-180 Yamaha made in Brazil in'98.

Well dang. I just assumed. I was under the impression that Japanese manufacturing is very nationalistic and that wouldn’t be an option for them. Combined with Honda’s reputation for valuing their engineering prowess above all else (including their GP riders, as all of us here know) I just didn’t think they would do that.

To weigh as much as a kid it’s originally sprung for?

    Nah I’ll skip that

I bet nothing under 600cc is made there any more. Mostly Thailand.

  17. Have to start somewhere :). I have this fz at home sprung for Joe, when I take it for Quick rides (technically even with race bodywork it street “legal” ) I wonder to myself if they make 2.0 front springs or if I can just jam two in each fork leg :)

You'll need a smaller OD spring.

Or to fit an Ohlins shock with that size spring - cut the sub-frame out, and weld/reinforce it back. Don't ask how I know.

I am contemplating milling a block to capture the lower shock end higher up on the swingarm.

    Just until clearance is achieved

I ain’t buying no damn new spring
