I like the French side.... the marches are awesome... they have really stinky fromage... like week old baby diaper stinky. Yummmmmmm. Definitely rent a car to get around.
Stayed at the RIU Palace on the French side (which is nicer) twice. First time 2015 it was great. 2017, not so much, place got run down and service/food was bad. Not sure what it’s like now, it was destroyed by Irma in 2018. Most of the island was flattened.
Search for the thread on here. Lots of good advice. Cliff notes: Buy watches and eat at the Lolos. Side trip and Anguilla was worth it. We stayed at Grand Case Beach Club and from their Facebook posts it looks like its bounced back pretty good from Irma. The wife and I will definitely be back. If it’s still there, there is a French patisserie in Marigot across from the boat dock. They had absolutely some of the best desserts I’ve ever had. I’ll see if I can find it. Oh yeah, second the car rental. It’s a must.
Sarafina's was the name of the place. It may or may not be re-opened after Irma. If it's there, check it out.
There's a great nude beach on the east end of the island. Dude cooks jerked chicken and plenty of cold ones follow. I took my kids there...they had a blast! Nothing like experiencing a 70 year old German couple letting it all loose
There’s some good youtube vids of the KLM coming in for landing..... I’d post them here but... well, you know......
got some good deals there on GP Tissots while on a cruise Also got a good deal on a loose diamond and decent setting as an updated engagement ring.
