It is not as bad as many make it, depends on what kind socialism. Just like capitalism, some places are much better than other. Biggest problem for socialism is capitalism, they can't compete or fight it.
The one where I can stop working and worrying about providing for my family, but instead I can sit around and wank while you support me and my family. Sounds awesome...to me.
I would rather live in one of the scandinavian socialist countries then india or similar capitalist countries.
It's easier to look down on those he feels are below him that way. Which is exactly what he is doing there.
One can hardly blame capitalism on India’s long and current social problems. Capitalism certainly isn’t driving the current lack of democracy and poverty etc.
Well yeah but don't they make money off of natural resources that they use to offset it all? With all of the classism/racism/whatever it is in India it's not a good example of anything really. Can't blame that on capitalism. Possibly on the Brits for not teaching them how to run a country after invading.
Are you aware of the advances they made once they went from a caste based society to freedom (capitalism)? Of course they have a long way to go and I would be surprised if some of the caste system does not still exist however the advance is stunning and broad based.
Plenty of examples other than India. That was my point, it is not that system really sucks but rather it needs to be implemented correct. They both suck when implemented wrong.
Agree they both suck when done wrong but I only see socialism working when there is a huge income source from outside of the population. It doesn't work in a closed system.
And I think mostly because like I said they can't compete. Capital is invested for different purpose, not to rapidly advance.
