NJ is a little bit different with their Stock 100 rules, they let the TTR/DRZ/KLX125 bikes switch from a 19" front wheel to a 16". UMM looks to have adopted the Sandy Hook rules word for word.

The TTR125s have definitely taken over that class. What used to be a sea of red is now 75% blue.

The TTR or 100... hands down. The TTR costs abit more to get in race ready condition and its slower than a CRF...lol
If you are 6' or larger...the TTR has better suspension. The CRF is abit "cramped". You can add a taller seat on the CRF for about $100. Over all difference between the 2? You can either motor out of a corner on a CRF or use the disc brake on the TTR. Equal riders on each bike = a really good battle.

just a bit too small for adults with a field larger than 4... great for little kids.

It's tight too. Only real passing opportunity is turn 1 or totally stuff somebody in turn 2. That banked turn is cool though.

They had a little corner at the Timonium State Fair Grounds event this past weekend. I talked with Paul. Nice guy...I think I like where these guys are coming from and
hope what they're building is a success. I think it's filling a huge void in this area for a way to get kids riding as well as a way for adults to have fun on minis. My son and I
will be checking this out as soon as possible.

Any idea when they open for the season for practice?

From the United Mini Moto website (BWI track): https://unitedminimoto.com/classes/

    • No engine, exhaust, intake, ignition, brakes or chassis modifications allowed

Beyond the drop-in air filter, does this mean the airbox mod (remove the snorkel, drill more holes in the airbox top) for the TTR 125 is not allowed?

Just need confirmation. Planning to rebuild the carb with a 17.5 pilot and 110 main jet. I may experiment with the airbox mod and different jet settings just to see how the bike responds.

Stock 100? Pretty sure you can run whatever element you want and remove the screen and snorkel. Probably drill too. Email the org., but I bet that's the case.
You can do limited suspension mods too. Internals to stock forks and respring fr and rear.

I would definitely get confirmation before you do any airbox mods, I'm 99.9% sure that anything beyond a drop in filter is not allowed.

My Grom has Ohlins...and at 240lbs, it's staying on the bike.

If they don't let me race, but I can still just go out and ride on $30 practice days with my son, that's fine for me.

NJMiniGP has had no issue with my suspension thus far.

Thanks Toad. I figured as much but I seem to keep reading the rules one way and wishing to have them interpreted another way instead.

I bought both a TTR125 and CRF100. Planning to use my TTR for mini moto. It's completely torn down for inspection, repair and upgrades. The suspension (my LE's suspension doesn't have any adjustments) will probably be the very last mod I do.

March 14 is their listed opening day of practice. If the weather is ok Alex and I will be there after I pick him up from school.

I emailed United Mini Moto tonight and just heard back from Paul Brown who says "stock is stock" and that "in terms of air box, no drilling, screen stays intact."

Pretty sneaky, Spang308, trying to get your competitor here to disqualify himself before ever hitting the track. :) :)

They moved opening back like a week to the 22nd...Alex and I were there last Sunday checking it out. There weren't any lines down showing additional layouts that I could see.

    Yes, Sir!

Go North of 100 past the Casino hotel.
Make a left onto Ridge Road and go 1.5ish miles to the intersection of Ridge and Stoney Run (I think that's the name..I know Stoney's the first part of it). Anyway, the facility is right there on the left.

BIG parking lot space...no barrier/gate. You should be able to drive right in and walk about and see what their is to see.
