Anyone have experience getting out of their timeshare? Who did you use and what steps?
I see a few companies claiming they can get you out of the timeshare, but most of their reviews aren't supporting their claims.

Many years ago my ex talked me into a Blue Green Resort timeshare and in the divorce I got stuck with it.

    Any words of advice?

Yes, I was on the phone with a company for an hour this morning that wanted $5,000.
Many companies online only scam and do nothing other than drain my wallet and give broken promises.
I'm looking for someone with first hand experience with a company.

Talk to the HOA/Management company? Or just sell it yourself.

Whats the value? I have an idea what we paid but finding someone who wants to pay for is another.

most times people are just wanting to get rid of the maintenance charges, and that's enough.

I'm sure there is a fee involved.

so either pay a fee or the maintenance, you have the choice...nothing good is usually free.

My Mother in law got scammed a couple of times by companies that claimed they would sell or rent. So she is still paying the maintenance fees and has never used it.

I'm not sure what the ramifications of just not paying the fees would be.

Keith, this is the real question.

  16. Collections, credit damage, lawsuit. Timeshare companies are very aggressive about that stuff.

Curious, does anyone know the fees associated with getting rid of a timeshare through a "reputable" company?
