Great! I hope they don't go back to their old BS, Nascrap practice takes over the MotoAmerica air time and we only get the last 5 laps.
Pretty much. Fox purchased Speedvision about 10 or 11 years ago and at that time it was rebranded Speed. Facilities were moved from the south side of Charlotte (actually rented from another network there) to the north side state of the art facility that Fox built and is actually one of the most technologically superior studios in the Fox Sports network (although I’m sure the people in LA don’t want to admit that). When Fox wanted to create Fox Sports with FS1 and FS2, they decided to use the Speed facilities here in Charlotte... along with facilities in LA too. So they killed Speed to create Fox Sports. There are still a few folks (actually quite a few) from the Speed days there.... but there are some new faces too. I think something to remember (and this is mostly for the whiners) is that the people working on these shows as producers love this sport every bit as much as you do - but they have to work within a budget and contract allocations that the higher ups and bean counters decide - and that is based on viewership and revenue. But I think it’s important to remember - they are working with what they have. It takes a lot of people and money to broadcast a network level sporting event... you’re not going to get it done with a dozen gopros and a couple drones.
You also need the ability to post random shit about your green egg or your wife's closet construction, but since you're a certified member of the BBS, you're already qualified for that.
