They are using the blizzard term. Starts in Cali and will travel all the way across the country. Northern Cali will have winds over 100 mph. Bring it
Who the hell decided to let the weather channel name winter storms? They should be smacked. If a blizzard is worthy it'll get a year attached to it, they need nothing more. Like the Blizzard of 76 or the freeze of 77/78. Silly hipsters.
I read the other day that it's the NWS that decided to start naming winter storms, they've already got like the first 10 picked out, alphabetically.
Trojan condoms. Yeah... let's name our condom for a city/state famous for putting a device inside an enemy fortress, which then broke open, and a bunch of little dudes spilled out and effed up everyone's day. Brilliant.
From Wiki, but seems fine, "The National Weather Service does not name winter storms because a winter storm's impact can vary from one location to another, and storms can weaken and redevelop, making it difficult to define where one ends and another begins."
I’m riding this storm out , currently sitting down by the lake on my golf cart, kind of fishing and waiting for a conference call to start
Harper hit the west coast (northern Cali, Oregon) this morning. All 48 lower states will get some kind of precipitation from this storm. It looks like the northeast will get hammered, with over 2' of snow in some areas.
