Some of the notable mentions: -Had to wait 20 minutes for the squat racks/deadlift platforms because every one was occupied by people doing curls or shrugs. -3 ladies standing on a vibration machine holding hands and giggling. -2 ladies (of the 3 mentioned above) on the treadmill at the same time taking selfies. -Boyfriend/girlfriend using the leg extension at the same time (she was on his lap) -Morbidly obese guy in boxers. -2 guys doing some sort of golf swing variation on the cable machines. I really do respect anyone willing to set foot in the gym and try to better themselves, but february can't come soon enough.
I was waiting until the first of the year to get in shape, but it sounds like February is a much better option. Maybe even March. Thanks
True, but there's also never any chance of random talent showing up to provide that extra bit of motivation you might need.
I usually go between 4 and 5 AM, so I don't see as much stupid as most since the New Years crowd usually isn't coming in that early. But, I did see a guy doing curls on a bosu ball in the squat rack while wearing jeans just after Christmas.
I am right there with ya! I hate the crowd come the new year at our Y. And like you said, usually about by the sixth week it's back to only the regulars.
I dont mind the new people because they will leave but if I have to tolerate one more steak head banging weights on the ground while doing dead lifts I may snap.
Dude, it was like, 400 lbs. this morning. I’m sorry the clatter prevented you from concentrating on not concentrating.
