Installed a new battery and tried the youtube route but nothing works. Keyless entry on a 2004 Jeep Liberty, no remote start. Help!

You will have to visit dealer or someone who has DRBIII to program your remotes, also you will need four digit code assigned to your vehicle to complete this task.Keep in mind I said remotes because you will have to have all of them (1,2,3...) and reprogram all of them. If you only do one and for example have two more, those two will not work.

Did you make sure the new battery is actually good? Is it the right type (number)?
Is the battery installed correctly - and the insulating mylar removed if present?

Changing a battery should not require a reprogram. Check the obvious things first.

Even changing the car battery should not involve a reprogram...

I was under the impression that he changed the battery in the remote. However, upon re-reading the OP, I could well be mistaken.

You are correct but the only reason for re-programming is to add a new remote or remove a dead/lost one. Unless the SKIM module was replaced there should be no need if just changing a remote battery.

It was the keyless entry remote, not the actual vehicle battery.

Then take the plastic off the battery? Turn the battery over? ? Good luck
