Welllll.....life's thrown about 84 monkey wrenches my way the past year or two. Having to start all over. So today, I start a new job. Delivery driver at Pizza Hut. Not kidding. Lolol Wish me luck.
Plenty. Don't want or need a career job right now. I don't need wads of money. Just doing this for the hell of it.
If it makes you feel any better my life is supposed to be in kick start mode, about to graduate with an engineering degree, and I probably would rather deliver pizzas. The older I get, I’m 31, I realize how right Tyler Durden was. We work jobs we don’t like to buy things we don’t need to live lives we don’t enjoy. Most depressing lost I’ve ever made before 8am probably.
I don't know why I went to Pizza Hut. Just saw a sign out front that they were hiring, went in, and got a job. I mean, I was just on the way to the grocery store but instead, I come home with a job. Wtf?
See I'm 55. Spent almost a quarter century welding at BMW. quit, cashed in my retirement, paid cash for a house, and now am starting over. I don't owe anything so, I'm just doing it for utility bill money, and the giggles.
That was my second job out of High School. Did it for 2 years. One of the best and most fun jobs I ever had. Cruise around in my jalopy and drop off dinner for people. Listen to my tunes and get paid to cruise around. It was Perfrct. I was in North Dakota. So it was also a great way to become a proficient winter weather driver. Good for you MH. Oh and we got to eat almost all the free pizza we wanted. Which was awesome. I got to open the store too. Doing all the dough and prepping the make table was fun work too. Bring in some cream cheese icing, sugar and cinnamon to make fresh cinnamon rolls with any extra pan pizza dough. Those are very tasty!
I wish I could support you, but Pizza Hut is the enemy in my household Seriously though, I'm envious...in an American Beauty sort of way.
lol sounds like my dad. The dude is retiring as a 35 yr chemist and is talking about coming to bus tables at a diner I've worked at forever. He comes in and loves yacking it up with everyone so he figured he would be allowed to stay all day and get payed to do it.
Hey Richie, did you get any health insurance with your package? Thats been my issue.....I'm 56, did probably close to the same thing as you, but I started another "Real Job" mostly for bene's......plus its something I always liked to do. Medical benes was a complication for me. Lockheed offers them for retirees, but its crazy pricey, like they dont want to do it.
