Thanks. I'm well paid and appreciated, so to date I haven't met a storm I didn't like. This time we had people all over north VT stopping to say thanks. It was honest work for me, but the guys who work there all year long deserve the thanks.
G'ville, Travs Rest, and Spartanburg lead outages with about 20k each. Will a tongue stick to a frozen stripper pole?
My oldest daughter goes to Wake Forest in Winston Salem... said it is up to 16 inches of snow and still coming down...
Yes it is... most got moved to online which really pissed my daughter off since most people cheat on those and there is no curve.. others got moved to Thurs.
My son and the crew he works with (sub contractors for Duke in Indy area) left Saturday morning for Asheville. They were told for 1 week, sounds more like 2 or 3 from the outage reports. https://www.duke-energy.com/outages/current-outages
I'm in Winston Salem, we got 14 inches, was all fun and games yestesday until I had to dig out the driveway. We live on a little knoll and the driveway is really steep. 4 frigging hours later. Still made it into the office this morning which is about 5 miles from the house to DT WS. Some roads where a little sketchy. I have 7:40AM flight out of Charlotte to LAX on Wednesday morning hopeful all this mess will be cleared up by then. Was a pretty decent snow storm that's for sure.
Was in Wrightsville Beach in ~1987. There was about 7 inches! We towed sleds with cars, only 3 of us got tickets.
Thanks. It's pretty much like that all the time.... I geek out on that stuff. It's all LED, so it's pretty low on power draw....
Not snow related, but just an hour ago I was driving home from work. I was doing about 70-75 MHP, when I heard a familiar noise coming from behind me. I thought "It can't be.", but sure enough, some squid on a crotch rocket went flying by me, probably at 85 MPH or more. I check the weather app on my cell phone: 19° F. I can't imagine what the wind chill would be at that speed.
