Ehh, SV guy’s are Cult like.... You have to run THESE forks, this year model, can only make X power before it blows up, can only go 2mm over, Blah Blah Blah. Kris goes faster on GSXR forks than 99% that swear by the stock forks, the only differance between the dual plug head and the single plug head is a extra plug in the side... no real differance either way. I do beleive the ECU and electronics are better on the 07-10 bikes and if we build a bike for next year it will most likely be that year model just because.
I've always been partial to the non-inverted 46 mm forks. Those work very well when set up right. Sorta midway on the rigid spectrum. Have a set (with ashtrays) up in Reno. Maybe if we get a B bike for next year...
Suzuki went with dual plug head because Honda did it 11 years earlier with their 650 twin, the Hawk... Suzuki will introduce a single sided swing arm in 2026...
If you're interested I finally decided I have to unload this package...http://forums.13x.com/index.php?threads/2007-sv650-ss-turn-key-race-package.334164/ Updates since that 2016 ad: SS build in 2017 by Hord with one race weekend and 1 track day on it (79 rwhp). 1.5" rise Woodcraft clip-ons in addition to a no-rise set. I rode this Monday at Mid-Ohio and the bike did fine, I just can't gel with the ergos. I was going to post it for sale in the spring but no time like the present.
Consider MotoAmerica elegibility if that is a possibility for you. All of the versions have advocates ... do you prefer Chocolate or Peanut Butter ? Have fun !
Advice for an SV650? Dont take things personally.. itll be the brunt of all racing jokes amongst your peers.
