The wires stab into wee holes in the back of the outlet.

Good luck with your search....but just for clarification, new outlets DEFINITELY have push in holes as well as the screw terminals.

There are two kinds of receptacles that have the holes in the back. The older style retain the wire with spring pressure. They are notoriously unreliable as the spring wears out and can cause a loose wire. The new style still have holes in the back but the wires are clamped with the screw. They are much more reliable. I would never use the old style if I had a choice.

The stab locks are still readily available and are generally cheaper, bulk packed outlets at the big box stores. The good ones that have the holes but use a clamp screw to tighten the wire in place, are much better, more expensive and usually sold individually. $.79 vs $1.89.
