How tight should the filter be. Should it come off easily by hand? Had a drip. Oring looks fine and wasn't doubled up

Two O-rings is definitely the answer.

2 has to be better than 1 right

I make them tight as I can get it by hand, given that I'm getting a good grip, for cars and bikes both and have never had a leak. If it comes off "easily" by hand, then it definitely should have been a little tighter as made obvious by the drip you saw.

  6. However much psi nd flow you can get to your impact gun.
Hand tight, once you feel more tension than you can turn it with a couple fingers go about another 1/4 turn with a full grip. Hard to explain exactly how tight as I go by feel.

Put some red RTV on the o-ring, to make sure.

Hand tight then 1/4 turn with wrench.... Wire it up and it should be fine... Haven't had a filter issue in 20 Years with Suzuki's,... I use Emgo's and Frams...

Red lock tight on the threads and jb-weld on the o-ring is the best way to get them to stay on there and not leak. Torque it to around 75lbs

per workshop manual:hand tighten it till the o-ring contacts the engine, then 2 full turns using a filter wrench.
it's printed on the oem filter, too.
it's a fine threaded filter,it can handle the torque.

    Only the pneumatic type.

    duc995 Yep…

Using a cap-type oil filter wrench I torque to 17 N-m. I got this from my zx6r service manual and it works for me.

I guess that's fine, too. But not everybody's hands are the same,it's not a consistent method.

If you don't have to drive a screwdriver through the filter to get it back off, it wasn't tight enough in the first place.

I had to do that on an Infiniti G20 I bought over 20 years ago. Unfortunately, the inside cast piece the filter screws onto, broke as the screwdriver nicked it. Fortunately, that piece was separate from the block, and easily found.
